Children's education in Afghanistan
Overall: 28.1%
Male literacy: 43.1%
Female literacy: 12.6%
These literacy rates are some of the lowest in the world. These literacy rates are so low because children cant afford and or cant attend regular school hours. Without being able to get an education, it will be even harder to get a decent job. Raising the literacy rates beginning in Afghanistan will benefit the people of Afghanistan and later on, the people of other countries with low literacy rates such as Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Mali.
Only 28.1% of the overall population in Afghanistan can do basic things like read and write.
In the U.S., 99% of the overall population can read and write.
If we got Afghanistan's rate up to even half of the U.S. we could accomplish so much more.
